Somalia medical, engineering and computer science education  

The World Health Organization (WHO) vowed to continue working with authorities in Somalia to improve health care in the country in the wake of a December 3 attack by a suicide bomber during a ceremony for medical, engineering, and computer science students graduating from Banadir University in the Somali capital of Mogadishu (http://www.who.int/mediacentre/news/statements/2009/mogadishu_20091204/en/index.html).
According to news reports, the attack, by a man with links to an Islamic militant group, killed 23 persons, including the Minister of Health and 2 other Cabinet members, the dean of the medical school, students, journalists, and others.
